Do you not understand competition? There are plenty of games out there that are competitive, not to mention sports in general.

Being the most attractive platform doesn’t make them a monopoly. It does however irritate me anytime I have to use a different platform that often functions much worse, like EA or Blizzard.

It’s just friendly rivalry, anyone who is experiencing actual hatred is unhinged and needs help. It’s mostly just bluster. I’d say there’s more animosity between fans of sports teams than gamers on different platforms.

I like all sorts of escapism. TV, Movies, Games, Books are all doorways to me.

I’d consider watching TV shows on a personal server watching TV. TV doesn’t need to be live airing. I just saying cuz I too mostly self host, but wouldn’t tell people I don’t watch TV. I think it’s more whether you’re consuming that medium at all or not.

That’s a good point too. Perhaps there’s more interstellar communication going on out there with the likes of Nova Core and other technologically advanced space faring groups that word would spread. Surely people would be curious as hell as to why half of life turned to dust randomly and go looking for answers.

I imagine many societies with no definitive answer would probably end up in religious hysteria.

Before the snap Thanos wasn’t necessarily a secret, he was just slowly but surely culling 50% of people on many worlds, one world at a time. Even nicknamed The Mad Titan. Maybe people would put two and two together.

If you want to try and rationalize it, I think he might say that the psychological scarring is necessary for all existing societies to change to more sustainable models, or risk another such culling in the future. Due to exponential growth of life, doubling resources, especially while societies continue to abuse those resources wouldn’t probably wouldn’t do anything long term (in his mind).

I am skeptical if such psychological damage can make enough long term inter generational impact, but hey it’s a theory.

I’m just kidding because that show didn’t receive hate as far as I know and was massively popular at the time. It kinda blows my mind that it’s been gone for so long now that there are whole generations of viewers growing up that haven’t heard of it. Showed my gf 24 and it blew her mind.

Played a fun game with it actually. She wasn’t aware of how many seasons there were, so at the end of each season I asked 3 questions:

Do you think there’s more? Do you think there should be more? Do you want there to be more?

Gave her the opportunity to end the show where she wanted.

I love Enterprise. Even learned to love the intro song, until they sped it up in season 3. Enterprise is good enough old school Trek to satisfy me, especially amidst the modern Trek shows and movies.

It doesn’t directly, his department is known to be a money pit. But having him at their hospital is kinda a point of prestige for the hospital; kinda like reputation padding. In a way, you can look at the budget for his department as a marketing expense for the hospital.

They get to claim they have a world famous diagnostician on staff who can figure out what’s wrong with the most hopeless causes.
