Same here, SimpleLogin via Proton Pass with my own domain (well a sub-domain of it anyway), works a treat!

3·3 months agoYes, you change your DNS settings so that your domain points to the new provider servers and recreate your email addresses there. You won’t have the old emails unless you backed them up and restored them but the address will be the same.

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•What is causing these layer lines? I'm assuming it has something to do with the curved part, as it starts around the same height as them. Is there a way I can avoid these?English
15·3 months agoI bet on more cooling due to shorter layer time in that area. Maybe the fan is blowing harder, check your cooling fan settings, and minimum layer time.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Could somebody recommend me a reliable and safe email service to use instead of Google and Microsoft ones?
2·5 months agoBeen using my domain email more and more for that reason, and the setup with Proton was quite easy, integration is great too. I even set it up with Pass to generate privacy aliases on a subdomain of my domain.

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Is it possible to 3D scan a motorcycle helmet and make smaller replicas?English
17·7 months agoYou can create a full color 3d model of the helmet including signatures by using photogrammetry. A phone is enough to do it, there are even apps that do it for free. There are also desktop apps that are open source that can do it. Color 3d printing is also possible with technologies like HP (Multi) Jet fusion. Hobbyist are unlikely to have them but a maker space might.

😁 To each their own I guess
I like daisyUI because it doesn’t have any Javascript
A lot of ui frameworks are based on tailwind and allow you to customize the components with more tailwind. It’s really a win because:
- it’s not “just inline classes”, it’s a design system (spacing, colors, breakpoints etc are well structured and not random)
- it is way less verbose than vanilla css and easier to remember
I switched to dockhand and it handles that nicely, including scanning for vulnerabilities in new images.
