Windows 10 decided to update a machine in a client’s office. The update took 4 hours and the employee could do zero during that time. A few weeks later a Win 10 machine at the same office crashed and would not start. I was left googling error codes from the BSOD. Nothing worked and I had to reinstall. I decided I needed to get my own work stack off of windows. I installed Kubuntu. 2 years later and I like KDE, I like the Debian base, I hate snap, but mostly I’m working and productive.

World News@lemmy.ml•Majority of Reported Drone Incidents in Europe Not Linked to Russia
15·12 days agoCan we not pretend? Sometimes hard to definitively identify a drone that was shot down. And a copied Iranian drone could be hard to pin down too. But we all know and can see who sent them.

While I’m at it, bang bang shrimp is similar. It’s about to go bad or is of low quality, so put a really strong sauce on it and at least you can sell something vs. throw it out.
Rotisserie chicken is the chicken that was about to go bad. It’s loss prevention. A cheap Rotisserie chicken is more profitable than throwing an old chicken away.

1·2 months agoHW3 and FSD version 14.1 just came a few days ago. Once again it has improved slightly around the edges. I rarely have camera occluded problems, maybe every 6 months? I have had it shut down in a pounding rain about a month ago. My most common reason to take over now is that I decided to take an alternate route or make a stop. They are also starting to address the “where to park” problem with v.14

Here’s a capitalism problem I can’t find a working answer to: How do you stop companies from enshittification when shareholders just blindly want more profits and higher stock prices?

But on the positive side, someone is finally attacking the last obstacle to using our expensive hardware however we want to: device drivers. I’m hopeful.
