That’s not true… There are different types of fiber with different throughputs depending on the class of the cable and the length of the installation.

What distribution are you using? The common desktop environments (KDE & Gnome) have simple graphical display configurations similar to what you find in Windows.

You have accurately identified a major part of the problem. Many people are unwilling to change their habits, or don’t have the patience to learn new tools.
The other element though is time, many people don’t have the time to stop and learn. Especially when a problem like privacy is a lot less immediate than hunger or healthcare.

Most desktop environments have an option for auto login under the user settings. That way you only need to decrypt the disk.
Small fine tuned models seem to be where the market as a whole is headed. Even the big players like OpenAI/Google/Meta are doing this as a means to optimize infrastructure. The Qwen3 models have been really interesting to work with.
I’m not disputing the technical aspect. But due to these realities I prefer to drastically limit the services I interact with.
Sounds like a great reason not to use their services

I have never seen an encryption implementation that required two passwords to decrypt the disk.
Is it possible the first one decrypted the disk and the second password was for your user account?
“I tried nothing and I’m all out of options!”

Yes you can! I think about a server as more of a role than a specific piece of hardware. Any computer can act as a server even a phone.
Sent you a DM, Interested to hear more about these problems!
I have been offering 1:1 chats on signal to anyone who wants help switching to Linux.
Asking questions in forums and social media is intimidating. I despise the snobbery that often represents this community. I just want to help people regain some control over their digital lives.

There is always a trade-off with privacy and security. It’s totally okay to decide you prefer convenience over privacy.
If you wanted to give it another shot:

Why not just access your financial institutions in a web browser?

9070 XT, similar performance to a 5070 Ti. Needs kernel 6.13.5+ and Mesa 25+ but it’s been flawless for me on Arch using the CachyOS kernel.

Wayland on Nvidia has a lot of issues was the big one for me. I ended up selling my Nvidia card and bought an AMD card instead.
ISP’s absolutely run multimode. That’s how you get fiber into a building or between buildings. Different types of fiber all play a role in a network deployment.
Broad statements are misleading. OM4 multimode won’t push 10gb at 500meters no matter how good your hardware is.
