Definitely! I’ve got an odd ranking system for my pop preferences. I prefer regular Pepsi to regular Coke, Diet Coke to Diet Pepsi, but Coke Zero is the GOAT and ranks top of everything. Pepsi Zero is bottom of the barrel for me.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•The NEO robot. I only can see this as a bad idea. What do you think?
1·9 days agoWe interact with the world as humans, it stands to reason a general purpose humanoid robot would be capable of interacting in similar ways (or at least this should be the design goal). This immediately solves several issues. First, it gives us a baseline of understanding in terms of interactions and tasks. There’s no guessing how the device or interface should work. Second, it establishes general capabilities and limitations. There may be more efficient single purpose or limited designs for a subset of general tasks, but as a whole, a humanoid robot is the perfect general purpose approach.

Games@lemmy.world•More than 1,200 games journalists have left the media in the last two years | VGCEnglish
11·15 days agoI’ll only address journalism as it relates to video games/reviews, but my opinion is that there are better ways to communicate information about a game than reading about it.
For me the big one is simply seeing it played. I’ve read beautiful reviews of games that when it comes time to play do not click for me. Watching someone else play it gives me way more context and appreciation. My go to for this is simply youtube. I skip the middle man entirely. I get a wide range of videos from different players in an easy to access format. Others I know use twitch to similar effect. As the options for providing this information grow, older media lose footing. I’m not surprised at all. I’m not sure we should lament it, truthfully.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When a tutorial in a game stretches out far too long, do you also picture yourself punching the tutorial npc in the throat and running away?

My cursory googling of definitions does not align with yours. Palliative seems to lean toward terminal illnesses, and your definition is largely only seen/used in the united states.
