  • No one taught me how to fix a car or paint a fence, yet I can do both. So can countless others with no such training across literally the entire spectrum of human capability.

People who claim they don’t do housework because they ‘were never taught how’ are just feigning incompetence. I bet the vacuum becomes much less mystifying if I tie a $1000 prize to its successful operation, for example.

Yeah I’m not the guy that advocates for kids or anything and definitely have my share of regret in that area, but we have pretty basic insurance in the US and the entire cost of the pregnancy was $200 out of pocket, not including parking. Every doctor visit, the delivery, and our own recovery room.

A coworker who is insured through his wife just had a little girl last week and actually only had to do copays for prenatal prescriptions. Oh and parking. They always fuck you there.

    E. I asked another buddy just for shits and he paid ~$1200 flat rate for each of his three kids delivery with a few hundred each prenatal. Expensive but manageable at least.

Sorry, no, parents don’t intrinsically know what’s best for their child, and that’s perfectly OK. It’s OK to not know what to do, and it’s undeniably right to seek those answers from others who might.

Parents thinking they always know what’s best is why so many otherwise totally normal kids grow up to be totally fucked up adults.
