Because I go on Lemmy for the news and for uplifting discussion. Many of my beliefs, such as kindness, compassion, and personal growth do not cause a stir here. However if I discuss some of my other beliefs, I will generally be down voted because the overwhelming majority of users here disagree with me. My goal when using Lemmy is to have constructive conversation, not contention. I want everyone to feel welcome, and in return, I want to feel welcome myself. Hope this gives you some context for my earlier “ignorant statement.” Happy Thanksgiving!

5·1 month agoDang, I hope Eric learns from the error of his ways. His next actions will make it break this reboot. He needs to do right by his community, or someone else will reboot it better. I hope Rebble stands their ground on this. I’m considering subscribing to Rebble even though my OG Pebble has a dead battery and screen connector. This needs to stay a community project so that there isn’t another fiasco. Keep on keeping on, Rebble!
On the plus side, blood draws at the doctors office are a breeze!

Its a nosism, but its not a royal we because it is refering to both the speaker and the cat. I believe the Wikipedia page refers to this usage as the patronizing we.

2·2 months agoFor me, the lockdown mode is on the shutdown menu that you get of you hold the lock button for a few seconds. (I have stock android on Pixel 7). Alyernatively, I could hold the power button surreptitiously until the phone reboots, requiring my PIN to unlock it.

When I was a ~10 year old kid, I dreamed about having an iPod touch. It was so cool to take pictures, play games, and look up information. I would wake up and be disappointed for half a day that the iPod was no longer in my hand.

12·4 months agoWhile I would probably be ok getting deliveries from someone who’s name or photo doesn’t match, there is zero chance I’ll get in a car with a driver who doesn’t match their name and photo in the rideshare app.
