The Bertone Ramarro is an Italian concept car designed and built by Bertone and based on the Chevrolet Corvette (C4). It debuted in 1984 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The name “ramarro” comes from the Italian word for “green lizard”.

I feel like this design was way ahead of it’s time. It looks futuristic even now, 40 years later. It’s a shame that it remains just a concept.

    Cars are now all the same, choice of red, black, white, silver. The Italian design houses are all but gone.

      Bertone, Italdesign and Pininfarina still exist, they are the first that come to mind when I think of Italian design studios.
