Are you sincerely interested in being a disciple of Jesus, conforming your life to his teachings in every way, and spending time each day with Christ in mental prayer, walking with him through his ministry, his passion, his death, and his resurrection? Do you want all this and consider that the Catholic Church only part-way meets this end?

Or do you find it convenient to try to disparage Catholics simply because you do not like some of the things the Catholic Church promotes and you find it convenient to argue we are lacking in our own ideals?

We already have military bases in Greenland and I’m sure their government would be willing to let us do just about anything reasonable for us to do. You do not like the Church’s interference in political issues related to gender but I suspect you have no problem with the work the Church is doing for immigrants during their difficult time. The Church can focus on more than one issue. It is impossible to take a stance on something and not offend someone. You are upset at the Church on gender issues. Others are upset at her providing food and sleeping bags to the homeless who live in the local park. If someone has a problem with these works, that’s just too bad. The Catholic Church isn’t going to stop being Catholic to gain favor with one person or another.

The capital you rely on in your argument has a asymptote, and as China approaches this line, growth will happen at a diminishing rate. How much technical progress can they squeeze out of the tube? Is it enough to deal with demographic collapse? Probably not.

China also has a huge gender imbalance. All those excess men count differently than men in other countries with a balanced gender dynamic. Also, China’s demographics (according to the website) do not compare favorably to the US. That said, it’ll be India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria and places like this that production shifts to as China ages.

Once they make it a habit of destroying ships in the Russian shadow fleet, availability of crews and insurance will dry up, further reducing Russian economic power, pushing Russia closer to the tipping point. Unless you are Russia, North Korea, China, or similarly aligned, it is in your interest that Ukrainian men be in Ukraine defending their country. If you are in Ukraine, it is in your interest that they be returned to fight. If you are on the front lines, you damn well have the expectation that they be made to join you on the front lines. It doesn’t matter what these men want. It matters what they will be made to do. And the pressure needs to be turned up to send them back to Ukraine to fight. Call it what you want but, in a just war, conscription is morally just, and pulling men back home to join in the defense of the county is morally just.
