182·1 year agoSaw this bullshit coming, already got a linux mint dual boot setup on my work pc.
PSA: If you have a bigger usb formatted to the ntfs file system, consider switching it to exfat file system when working with linux. I had a hard freeze up and couldn’t get my files off for a bit, and this what I suspect was the issue.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is a game or games that you think are an absolute must-buy?
8·1 year agoJust did the dlc for outer wilds recently. It was refreshing how it added to the story without detracting from the main game but It was pretty damn scary for me, a person who doesn’t play horror games. I still think it’s worth it. Somewhat odd choice for the dlc when the main game was mainly an archaeological space puzzle but they made it work.
So this is what a greek tragedy feels like.
After I read that windows is pushing recall on the home editions on windows 11 I moved all my writing work to a dual booted Linux Mint os.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What movie did you watch as I kid which you shouldn't have?
7·2 years agoLeprechaun and a slew of other horror movies, I can’t recall the names of. Still dislike 90% of the horror genre but was able to watch Alien (1979) just recently and it was surprisingly done well.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Need help picking out a heating solution for the winter.
1·2 years agoGood point but I accounted for that. I’m going to leave a heater like is in plan B running in our kitchen space on low for a large part of the winter. Hopefully it will be enough but I’ll keep an eye on it with a thermometer.

3·2 years agoI live in America, A safe estimate would be 1000 sqft after halfing the house to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom for the winter, I live an area that gets mild winter weather but can hit near 0 degrees F for weeks at a time, we’re used to running the heat at 64F, owned house(for the sake of simplification)

Good to know.
