Yeah I remember seeing this same image like… At least fifteen years ago. Even then it was considered pretty old.

Yeah I do. Mainly it’s because my dad was always off working and so my grandparents, or his parents, did most of the work of raising me. And since he was their son, of course they were in the habit of calling him by his name. It stuck.

I predict a similar future and it is why I decided to come to Mint rather than another begrudging Windows upgrade (I was staunchly against Windows 10, but upgraded to it anyway because at that time in life I needed a new laptop, and it came with Windows 10 installed and during that stage I had bigger things on my plate than what operating system I was using/how to install and operate a new one).

While I am only taking baby steps into the Linux environment now, I hope that by the time the walls really start to close in, I will be technically adept enough to join the more hardcore holdouts.

Did a literature Master’s. Cant not skim unless I’m actively stopping myself from it. Also, the internal literary critic never shuts off, but I think that it’s a good thing to always be in critical thinking mode in this day and age, even if it means I can’t “it’s just a story” anymore.

Huel is kind of hard to beat. It has gotten me through struggle years.

I am thinking I might try Linux Mint on the laptop but I’m kind of terrified of blowing it up or wiping data. My laptop is getting old and I will likely be building a replacement desktop soon.

But it is a gaming laptop and has strange interactions with heat and fan speed and glowy keyboard lights and I’m afraid I’ll disable some safety feature or accidentally break wifi compatibility irreversibily if I tinker too much.
