Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•how do you manage to go through and play a game?
10·3 months agoA tip I’ve seen online is to keep a gaming journal. After you finish a session, write what you accomplished and what you want to do the next time. Then every time you are a bit bored or have time to kill, look at your journal and flip through your started games. Works like a charm for mr at least.

Books@lemmy.world•What book(s) are you currently reading or listening to? August 19
4·4 months agoCurrently reading/listening to Wizard’s First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I’ve tried diving into earlier fantasy authors like Moorcock and Le Guin, but their writing styles never quite clicked with me. This one, though, I’m really enjoying so far.

Books@lemmy.world•Is the Inheritance (Eragon) series worth reading?
21·4 months agoI really love this series.
The universe may feel a bit generic, but it’s like a “best of” fantasy classics—with strong worldbuilding, a solid magic system, and a great cast of characters. The pacing is good, too.
The author was quite young when he wrote the first book, which makes the young hero feel especially believable (refreshing). As the series goes on, the writing improve noticeably in my opinion.
It’s an easy read with a good flow so you might as well give it a go.
Oh and the movie never existed, never!
Lemmy is a federated platform where each instance is run independently but can interact with all the other ones. lemmy.org is such an instance.
Your account is on it (written sulegulmen@lemmy.org) but I (KubrickFR@lemmy.world) can see and reply to your post on the community c/asklemmy (similar to r/something on Reddit)
Hope this is useful, I’m no expert…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Have you found any cool uses/life hacks for AI?
4·8 months agoI use it for books/movies/music/games recommandations (at least while it isn’t used for ads…). You can ask for an artist similar to X or a short movie in genre X. The more demanding you are the better, like a “funny scifi book in the YA genre with a zero to hero plot”.

Games@lemmy.world•What open-world games on Steam have satisfying movement, like Arkham Knight or Spider-Man?English
41·9 months agoThe first ones that come to mind are : Prototype Infamous Hulk
If you like the flow but it can work without gliding/grapple games with parkour can be up your alley like mirrors edge (catalyst is open world) or dead something (rising, island?)
I recently loved Tinykin for the same movement is fun reason, not really open world but 6-7 big worlds. Ni gliding but lots of movement flow. Another not open world (and not third person) is Titanfall 2, loads of wallrun/jump.
I would highly recommend Monument Valley (1,2 and 3 is coming soon) as far as puzzle goes, for a quick arcade fix, I like Breakout 71 (with rogue-lite elements) and all games by Arnold Rauers (Card Crawl being my favorite, but by a small margin).
Here’s a quick selection from the top of my head, if you want I can go throw my app history for a few more :)
