I recognize that I’ve been blessed with the cats I’ve had in my life. Not all of them are cuddly and like hanging out with humans. But like yours, mine have always been and still are incredibly loyal and loving.

That and Hall of the Mountain King.

Europe@feddit.org•Is Belgium becoming Europe's first 'narco state'? | EuractivEnglish
25·20 hours agoThe irony of us getting an (almost) far-right government promising to be “tough on drug crime”, and drug crime going through the roof right after, including arson and bombings in Antwerp in the last few days.
The previous government didn’t decriminalise weed but they gave it “least importance” compared to other crimes. Now, we’re back to the times where getting caught smoking a joint can ruin your life.
Great job assholes! Somehow I’m willing to bet the amount of coke flowing into EU parliament hasn’t ceased a lick.

8·20 hours agoThere was always going to be a point where “hurting other people” would finally take a backseat to “staying the fuck alive yourself”. This appears to be this point. For some at least.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do middle aged family men handle it?
5·1 day agoBeen going through games that have been on my backlog for, in some cases, a decade. Recently finished Shadow of Mordor & Shadow of War. Currently playing Dying Light. My pc at the time could never handle it, Techland’s games are usually a bit ahead of their time graphically.
King’s Quest and Space Quest with an English dictionary next to me. Text-parser games so no way around it. But I was so stoked on the games that I learned English with glee.

312·1 day agoI don’t.
I just recently lost my IT job of 10 years. Things are looking extremely grim.
So escapism in the form of weed & late night gaming after the family has gone to sleep.

So glad you could give him a loving home and warmth in the final part of his life. He went out knowing he was loved and doted on and that’s the highest kind of accolade you can earn with cats. World needs more such people.

69·3 days agoI believe him. They’ll take a single border town with a lot of Russian speakers, then stop, just to gauge article 5. If EU remains unified and responds, they’ll pull back. If not, they’ll grow the harassment.

Technology@lemmy.world•God ****** dammit, here we go againEnglish
191·4 days agoI’ve only really been in one breach. This one is actually a breach of a “security firm” (incompetent idiots) who aggregated login data from the dark web themselves, essentially doing the blackhats’ work for them.
This is also EXACTLY why requiring online interactions to be verified with government ID is a terrible idea. Hackers will similarly be able to gain all possible wanted data in a single location. It’s simply too tempting of a target not to shoot for.

Collapse of the global climate system though, that’s something else entirely. Nature can’t be bribed the way humans always can.
