Easier of a solution than I had found when I tried… I remember looking it up basically being told it wasn’t possible without a lot of fiddling. Strange. Good to know it’s actually simple!

As a heads up, Librewolf last I checked had issues with media involving DRM. Ergo, streaming services will throw a fit if you try using them on it. Not an issue if you don’t use any of course, and there may be ways around it, but worth knowing that it doesn’t work out of the box at least.

I’m going to be honest: I have a hard time believing it’s actually worse than on the kind if sites I used when I was a kid. The problem exists and they aren’t doing what they could, but I get the distinct feeling the weird To Catch A Predator fad is blowing a real problem up into an impossible crisis. Much like what happened back when the show itself was airing.
Like I need to see some serious, hard evidence that’s not just outrage.

It’s much easier if you talk to your child. Who is that person? Are they a friend from school? What kind of things do they talk to you about? And so on. You don’t need to be watching 24/7, you just need to be checking and also talking with your kid about things.

Supervision isn’t sat down watching them the entire time. It’s keeping an eye on them and monitoring what they are doing. And maybe have whatever they’re playing on set up in a space that’s easily viewable.

Look any game aimed at children is going to have this issue. And trying to force the kid to never play the big game all their friends are almost certainly playing is a fool’s errand. Best bet is to let them do so with supervision than to end up with a kid trying to play in secret on their phone or something.
Along with just… Talking to them about this problem and what to do if they encounter someone being creepy to them. Kids can be pretty smart if you help them and make it clear that they can come to you for that help.

Despite it’s many, many, many problems it is still incredibly popular. So the fact it’s picking up traction on Linux is still interesting for its popularity alone.
But goddamn is it a fucked up site. And to think I used to play back in 2008 and couldn’t have imagined the form it’d take almost 20 years later.

You’re not. You’re not doing that work. The LLM is.

Infinite scroll pages are inherently worse than a set number of pages you can jump between at will. The fact almost everything has swapped to that is a nightmare and makes looking for old things on a blog or hell even a YouTube Playlist a nightmare.

I was 17 I realized I was trans. A revelation that helped me better understand my sexuality as well. Turns out I’m bi/pan. I did spend several years just assuming I was ace because the idea of sex didn’t interest me until I realized I was a woman.

I’m going to be honest those do not sound like good uses. I want games to be designed with intent, not on the spot by an LLM.

I don’t even want that, I’d rather a game have its characters and writing created with intent by a person who cares.

Not my responsibility to fix your weaponized helplessness. Do something about it or whine impotently. No one is coming to save you.

Okay. Then do nothing and let it happen I guess. Those are your two options. Do something about it, or do nothing and let it happen.

What do you think you’re supposed to do in this situation? Get rid of the fascists.

There’s secret police kidnapping people in the streets, he talks about running for another term, human rights are being rolled back constantly. They are actively rigging future elections and the Supreme Court and congress are giving him more and more power.
We’re already there.

My childhood bedroom basically.

Heartwarming! Broke students who can’t afford places to live allowed to stay in their cars in the parking lot!
It’s… Not really a scam so much as a thing for weird cranks who think the apocalypse is coming. If you have gold then you have gold. And gold will likely hold its value for a long time because it’s a rare resource. Unless we find some alchemy that turns common materials into it, it will likely stay that way. So if you buy gold at market value then you can always sell it later at market value, and that market value is almost guaranteed to be higher than when you bought it.
The people who are really into it though are the weird cranks. And I’d imagine certain stocks or even bonds are arguably better returns in the same time span.
This country’s not getting better unless it’s completely rebuilt from the ground up.
