No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•When leftists say "landlord are parasites" or similar dislike of landlords, do they also mean the people that own like a couple of houses as an investment, or only the big landlords?
124·1 year agoWe mean all of them. Being a landlord is racketeering other people’s hard earned money for the human right of being housed, they’re all parasites that grabbed the housing market to a point nobody else can buy anything to actually live in.
It’s very symptomatic of how blatantly immoral and disgusting capitalism is: The only time capitalists will stop gouging themselves with money directly from other people’s suffering is when they fear for their own lives. You, they’ll happily let die for profit otherwise.
The french gendarmerie recently received a new vehicle, it’s a tank equipped with a machine gun and 40mm grenade launcher. They’re deployed in our colony, Caledonia, to enforce an apartheid. They were also used against ecology protesters recently. Last year, a racist cop murdering a kip sparked revolts, anti-terorism units were deployed and shot kids with 12 gauge shotguns. It’s not just america, the rich and powerful are at war with the people everywhere.

Global News@lemmy.zip•France: Protests against police brutality turn violentEnglish
8·2 years agoOne single bank and one single car got a broken window each, nobody got injured; that was a super chill non-violent protest. Back during the yellow jackets days cops mutilated by the dozen, that was violent. Earlier this year they mutilated again during the retirement reform protests, that was also violent. This summer they sent counterterrorism out to shoot at kids with 12 gauges shotguns when they revolted after cops killed two of them during traffic stops in two weeks, that was violent. Today was not, because the cops got ordered not to spill blood this time.
The degree of violence in a protest is always set by the cops and the government who gives the orders, always.

It’s because there they can sell them what they actually cost to produce instead of being forced to sell at a loss by the food industry.
