This won’t work, a narcissist will burn the house down with everyone in it keep someone else from winning.

Because the internet didn’t suck when we had those. Game companies were still innovating when we had those. Google wasn’t evil when we had those. Windows didn’t spy on us when we had those.

This is the best super power hands down. If you get a space suit, you could even jump to the moon. And in a single night every despot and dictator could be dealt with.

Playing OOT for the first time was pure joy.

“Hey, Listen”

instead of government cheese we are going to have government tofu

That is wild, but it makes sense. Staples isn’t really interested in me buying a pen, and I am guessing the average person does not use a pen that often anymore. However, Staples is really interested in getting a contract with my employer to make sure the office is well stocked with pens, paper, and other office supplies. Depending on how distribution works, it is possible to sell less pens and make more money. If all the pens go to the same three companies that could be cheaper then shipping pens to 15 different stores.

now we are asking the real questions.

I guarantee you, knowledge means something. You need the degree to get the job, but if you don’t know your ass for your elbow, that entry level job is as far as you are going to go. If you want a promotion and pay raise, you need to know your shit.

If only that were true. Getting a degree is just paying to play, your resume goes into the trash without the right degree or certification, regardless of what skills you have. Having the piece of paper is no grantee you will get a job, hiring managers will find the dumbest reason to throw out applicants, because their job is to turn 100 applicants into 5 applicants so the people making the decision don’t have to work to hard.

I hope we all like soy beans because that is going to be the only affordable thing in the grocery store.

As an IT person I get it.

I think this the answer, although I would choose a mountain top.
Get a cat, play with the cat or give it a treat at 9 pm. The cat will enforce bedtime

I like to believe that his editor told him that enough was enough and that we had to end the damn book. And, if it was not for the editor he would still be writing the book, not not revising it, just making it longer and longer.

I want to love his books, he build such interesting worlds and stories, but the ending disappoints almost every time

I disagree, cryptonomicon’s ending just comes out of left field with the introduction of a new character at the end of the book.

He may know how to start a book but he can’t end one to save his life.

This tracks with what I have seen at two companies I have worked for. The first did a POC for copilot and I was part of the test group. It was fun to play with but there was no good use case for my work. In the end they didn’t buy copilot.
The second company has copilot for a select few but is to broke to buy copilot. I’m pretty sure those are just fee licenses MS gave out hoping to get adoption.
Learning that in was already pushing harder than most, and that pushing hard does not mean success was a very important lesson in my life. Playing to my strength and forgiving myself for my weaknesses has help me be successful.
