I liked that show a lot as is. But it definitely had a lot of potential with more season.

I’m a big fan of their DuchesS which is a recreation of the second OG Xbox controller (controller S). Especially with backwards compatible OG Xbox games.
I’ve considered the Duke recreation though.

I love the show. It’s pretty perfect from an entertainment perspective.
They lean a bit more on the wacky (but brutal) aspect of the games than some people wanted. But for me, it’s hard for me to imagine it being done any better. I’ve had one major gripe with the show, and even then I understand what they’re going for.

My thoughts exactly. I’m a console gamer. So a straightforward all-in-one box is great.

So, to play Devil’s advocate, the tone is what makes it feel like the future. While Next Generation would have lots of 20th century, U.S. culture brought up, it was always from a “antiquity” POV.
The article actually mentions Beastie Boys used in Beyond. But that’s actually more in line with how they would have handled it before.

Heroes abandoned the Irish girl in the deadly virus timeline. It was obviously going to be a plot line and it was never brought up again.

Maybe before. But it’s gotten pretty damn good at detecting anomalies and issues. And every time a human QA validates the info, it gets better.
I’d still leave it to a human to fix the code though. I suspect that letting AI write the code would make it unworkable for people in the future. But maybe it can write code in a straightforward way to be managed. I don’t know. It’s advancing pretty fast.

From a tech POV, that makes a lot of sense. Use AI to find the needle in the haystack. Then let a person validate. That’s probably one of the better uses for it. Although I don’t love AI for any of the broad reasons to not like AI.

I’ve heard conflicting reports of Superman being profitable vs not. If I’m reading this correctly, it’s actually just saying the revenue timing was in Q3 compared to the costs being in previous quarters, right?
In other words, quarters with more developed are going to have higher costs and quarters with more releases will have more revenue.

I dropped my Premium plan when they upped the price. But even before I was waiting until they had a sale before subscribing.

I don’t know what’s worse, that Microsoft may have given them the go-ahead or that they did it knowing Microsoft would be too scared to say something.

That’s a normal complaint. I thought Reach was peak esthetic for Halo because it was big recognizable variations in armor.
After that they made intricate armor variants that largely go unnoticed because they just look like a mess.

I’m worried that if someone doesn’t like my thoughts on certain individuals, they could go to my employer and get me fired or targeted.
ABC is a Democrat funding organization and they suspended him for (accurately) saying that the right was trying to find someone to blame before having all the facts and then showing an unedited clip of Trump.
If that’s the bar, we’re all fucked. So yeah, I took it VERY FUCKING PERSONALLY that I could be fired for accurately describing current events like people being killed, assaulted, or tortured because it’s considered inflammatory. In addition to that, network TV is about to get a lot more right-wing and a lot less honest for the sake of centrism. So I want people with an audience to be able to tell the truth about invasions in our own damn country.
The response has been the demand free speech and, for me, it has been a rare bright spot recently.

I’m just going to say I think the first and third examples are just not your taste. They’re not badly executed. Stranger Things had a great first season, but they really couldn’t nail it after that. It’s kinda the Alien issue, switching more actiony after the first installment.

While the writer’s strike had obvious effects on season 3 (RIP MIA Irish girl), it’s not like season 2 was outstanding television either.
They really just had one good season worth of ideas.

The good: Gunplay was the best of new 343’s Halo games. They made the Prometheans fun to fight. Warzone was the only good thing to come out of 343’s multiplayers. The lootboxes which could be earned was better than infinite’s paid season passes and expensive armor cores. They also had probably the only good iconic anything from the 343 games in the Guardians. On top of that, they had the best villain of the 343 games (evil Cortana).
The bad: They brought back Cortana after a amazing send off. The Didact never appears again despite having a teaser at the end of 4. Half the story is you playing a random Spartan chasing John for being “suspicious”. The team dynamic isn’t great and is leaned into. Warden Eternal SUCKS. And then he sucks again. And again. NO SPLIT SCREEN, AT ALL! No real Firefight, but none of 343’s games have had real Firefight.
Anyways, infinite sucks and I wish it didn’t exist. I’d rather have had a Halo 6 close out the Promethean story and do more with the Guardians.

Besides a lot of unnecessary changes that got rid of iconic moments from the game (or changed them to be less impactful or awkward), they diluted Ellie down heavily. In the game she’s cold, calculated, and ruthless. In the show she’s emotional. I think they tried to keep more of the old Ellie’s personality.
Aside from that, Tommy’s role from the game is completely erased, which was a massive eye-opening context for pre-TLOU Joel, especially for Dina. Not that it’s new information as much as witnessing it.
It’s just disappointing because they did such a good job with season 1. And Bella Ramsey has gotten a lot of flak for bad writing.

I don’t mind changes to fit the medium. The Last of Us Season 1 did a great job of making changes that made sense. Season 2 fundamentally changed a character from the game and was widely considered a bad move.
Just, they need to quit making changes to the reason these characters are popular.
I just finished the newest season of Only Murders in the Building. I liked it better than the last two seasons.
About to jump into the new season of Stranger Things.
Oh, and football. Chiefs might miss the playoffs. There’s really no front runners in the NFL.
In college, Miami jumped Notre Dame when neither played, dropping ND out of the playoffs, and now they’re declining ANY bowl. Also, literally everything about Michigan’s head coach over the last 24 hours. And with JMU and Tulane both getting autobids, I’m curious if the playoffs will get more revisions next year. College ball is like a soapy reality show for men.
