Certain areas of NYC is what you want. Expensive though. I lived a block from a 15 minute train ride to work at one point. Every type of food you could want within 15 minute walk. Bus up the block took you to Costco.

Read that as “surly woman” at first.

Can agree. My friend went this route a couple decades back Has huge house and kids now. The kids are skinny, but he has a few

I agree with this thought. Same problem with welfare. You must work a certain number of hours to get it but not make over a certain amount. This allows Walmart to have a legion of no benefit having part time workers getting paid minimum wage. You keep those bad jobs because taking a better one means you lose welfare and all the additional government benefits.
This will be a revenue stream for capitalists. What you need to do is provide the basic needs and not cash. Food, healthcare and shelter. People now do not need to work and employers have to pay better to get people to work for them.
RTO is about control and management/owners thinking that everyone else is lazy and would not do anything if not constantly pushed. I believe that is because they are the kind of people who would need that kind of supervision.
The financial side is that making people go to work maintains value. The money you spend on lunch, travel, dry cleaning, maintenance of cars, and the increased value of property near places of business add to the ownership class’s wealth. All that money you spend traveling to/from and while you are at work goes to them. If you save that money by working from home, the wealth stays with you.
