Technology@beehaw.org•They thought they were making technological breakthroughs. It was an AI-sparked delusion.
4·4 months agoI know this sounds condescending but isn’t this more of a reading comprehension / media literacy problem than an AI problem? These people apparently believe whatever an LLM tells them and, critically, only realised they were being goaded when they asked a different LLM. Sounds like the problem is between keyboard and monitor, no? If you can’t critically evaluate information being sent your way, no matter who from, you’re at risk of delusion. We see it all around us, really AI only accelerates the proces.

Technology@beehaw.org•The Job Market Is Hell: Young people are using ChatGPT to write their applications; HR is using AI to read them; no one is getting hired.
8·4 months agoOn the one hand, it’s nice to be able to have the recruiter AI agent I made write applications for me because I hate that part. After that, I can do the interviews myself just fine and I’m all good.
On the other hand, it feels disgusting and lazy.
But it works much better than last time I was job hunting (last year) and did everything by hand.
It’s showing me that (as far as I can tell) recruiters don’t give a shit and barely read what you send them. They’ll reach out as long as your LinkedIn is SEO optimised.
Depressing but true

2·6 months ago1 was good, at least it followed the book better than 2. 2 has most of the action though, can’t really blame people for liking that.

Jira and confluence have always worked fine on my Firefox 🤔
