Privacy@lemmy.ml•What's with Telegram? Heard mixed opinions on it.
5·21 days agoEven with e2ee, I wouldn’t trust it since they use a closed-source, proprietary encryption protocol.

I love how the only rational person on the thread gets down voted.
I just use an audio recorder while the call is on speaker phone.
Molly (fork of Signal) allows you to use multiple phones https://github.com/mollyim/mollyim-android
I used it for a couple years, but came back to signal because I had so many issues with media sharing.

You have to adjust your number, since this happened 5 year ago 😅
Can you explain why you chose the hand and eye? A hand print is a very identifiable trait, so it seems counter to the idea of privacy.

2·10 months agoYou can run it as a docker, pretty easily.
Run this to generate your visitor_data and po_token
docker run quay.io/invidious/youtube-trusted-session-generatorClone the repo in link below (step 2) and paste those values into your docker_compose.yml file in the appropriate fields. Also, generate a nice long string for the hmac_key
https://docs.invidious.io/installation/#docker-compose-method-production
This does give you an “identity” with YouTube, but you can generate new tokens as often as you want, replace them in your yml, and restart the container.
Once the container is running, update FreeTube settings abs change the “current invidious instanc” to http://localhost:3000/
Let me know if you get stuck.

1·10 months agoWhy proxy a brave search request? Isn’t brave search already private?

Signal is easy to on board folks to. Not a huge fan of the phone number requirement, but it’s worth the trade off for me. I used Session for a while, but media sharing was buggy. I’ve heard good things about Simplex, but the inability to have a desktop client was deal breaker for me.
