You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK to lose weight, fill up with foods low in caloric density and high in fiber, like fruits and vegetables. This can trigger satiety without the overload of calories and beats going hungry long term.
123·1 year agoFeeling full is about volume of food. With high calorie dense foods like fast food, that’s going to be a ton of calories. With low calorie dense foods you can eat the same amount of food, and eat substantially less calories.
The only thing that matters in weight loss is calories in, calories out.
I get that it’s harder for some people, but finding less calorie dense foods that you enjoy will go a long way towards helping lose weight. Also, don’t drink pop unless it’s diet.
iCloud Keychain is super easy to use, but obviously you need a iOS/macOS to take advantage.

1·1 year agoHow you drive is the biggest factor. I can get 3.5L/100km driving super careful in my Prius, I can also get around 6L/100km if I race everywhere.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Anybody familiar with optician work able to tell me if this optician was lying?
2·1 year agoCorrect. In Canada your eyes and your teeth are not part of your body apparently. They are not covered by health care. (Routine stuff anyways, some surgery’s could possibly covered, not 100% sure).
Free test with purchase of glasses, and obviously not giving out prescription, is completely reasonable. Unfortunately that is not what’s happening in Canada.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Anybody familiar with optician work able to tell me if this optician was lying?
15·1 year agoAll eye care in Canada is private. As far as I know I’ve never heard of anyone offering eye exams for free. It’s usually $150-$200. For some people the government covers the fee, but it’s still a private practice and they get their money. Zero reason they can withhold the prescription.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Anybody familiar with optician work able to tell me if this optician was lying?
36·1 year agoI’m 99.9% sure they have to give it to you and are just being scummy. You paid for the eye exam. You are entitled to the results.

34·1 year agoWhat an absolutely bonkers suggestion. Do you legitimately think this solves the problem?
If someone actually did this, strapped drywall, leaking garbage bags, and other random garbage on top of their vehicle, there would be a post on here so fucking fast calling the driver a moron.

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•But how will people know what size the pp is?English
218·1 year agoYou are definitely wrong, there is a market for it. It’s clearly not as big as it currently is, but there are absolutely people that families and work some sort of construction or farming job where a truck is necessary, and carrying more than 3 people comfortably is also necessary. And two vehicles is also not feasible.

Unless you know they are religious definitely avoid saying “they are in a better place now”.
