string theory lied to us and now science communication is hard : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kya_LXa_y1E
TL;DW: it never was a good theory and the majority of physicists stopped caring about a long time ago because of that
Interesting topic, but the random usage of “AI” to do things because they did not want to x, followed by them doing x anyways a paragraph down was weird. Also all the xitter LinkedIn style posts and pages of slop code made it awful to read…
I feel like both the article nor thr HN comments have actual experience with Anubis. Especially the recent posts from codeberg about their “AI” induced downtime show the clear need for it.
They, as far as I’m aware, are not reselling like private equity would. They actually take over operations and get ROI through profits.
Thanks. Yeah, increasing revenue generation by increasing monetization is definitely part of their MO.
Can you explain more what and how they ruined something for you? So far I haven’t heard of any real negative change to the applications themselves.

Gaming@lemmy.zip•Minecraft Java modding is about to get a lot easier and more interestingEnglish
10·2 months agoHuh, neat. Not obfuscated Java Code is pretty much source available. But with the amount of reverse engineering the modders have done, I guess that was mostly true anyway.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why did Thanos, with the power of all the infinity stones, never think to try doubling the amount of resources in the world?
11·2 months agoI think you are thinking to hard about stories that aren’t meant to be thought about a lot. Whether you half the population or double the resources it is just a temporary “fix” anyways. It’s just a plot device for creating conflict and killing off fan favorites without actually killing off fan favorites in the end.

3·3 months agoWhile these text obviously depict violence in a plethora of ways, it once again shows how flawed “NSFW” is as a catch all label. As a priest the bible is obviously safe for work. For a sex worker porn and sex toys are safe for work, etc. We as society should learn to use more useful content warnings everywhere.

A good friend has one, also only for one ear. People don’t really notice, I’d say. I don’t think it really restored a lot of hearing but he still wears it usually as it is still better than nothing. He got it pretty quickly after his hearing loss, so no idea how that would be after 20 years. He got them for free through standard health care as far as I know. I don’t think he’d be willing to pay a lot for it if he had to. But I never asked that directly. Not aure if that helps. If you want I can try to ask him some specific questions if I remember to do so.

For those looking for an alternative, I switched to Voyager after it became clear Sync was abandoned. It feels similar enough to me.
