Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Music Assistant 2.7 - Taking over the airwavesEnglish
2·4 days agoAre you referring to genre tags? If so, they’re adding that feature in version 2.8.
There is also a Don’t Stop The Music feature, however that relies on functionality from the underlying provider.
The Don’t Stop The Music (DSTM) option can be enabled if a provider is available which supports dynamic tracks (i.e. Apple, Deezer, Spotify, Subsonic, Tidal and YTM). When DSTM is on, radio mode will be automatically enabled when the last track of the queue is reached and if any dynamic tracks can be resolved from one of the providers. The added tracks will be based on the played items in the queue.

2·1 month agoThat was my original point. The artist or promoter is able to set the face value price, but Ticketmaster adds fees on top.

3·1 month agoDo you have a source for this? The Ticketmaster FAQ states the artist or promoter sets the base price.

United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Reselling tickets for profit to be outlawed in UK government crackdownEnglish
5·1 month agoThe article states that the government will regulate the fees that can be charged on top of the face value.
Under the plan, which could form part of next year’s King’s speech, anyone selling a ticket will not be allowed to charge more than they paid for it. Resale platforms will be allowed to charge fees on top of that price. These extras will also be limited, to ensure that they can’t be inflated artificially to offset profits forfeited owing to the legislation. The scale of the ceiling on service fees is yet to be determined.

Casual UK@feddit.uk•Why are alcohol-free drinks so expensive? Some fake spirits cost over £25 a bottle!English
6·2 months agoThanks for asking. I do enjoy the taste of beer and wine, and prefer it over the taste of soft drink. Having tried lots of alcohol free beers, I do think they’re very good these days, and I’m a big fan of Botivo.
Alcohol-free wine still has a way to go, I sometimes grab a bottle from the supermarket, and find it quite reasonably priced. It doesn’t taste quite like wine, but for me it tastes better than soft drinks.

121·2 months agoFor some people, myself included, drinking is about the ritual and the social aspect, rather than necessarily getting drunk. When I go to a pub, I want to have a beer, but I don’t always want to deal with a hangover the next day, particularly during the working week.
In some ways it’s not that different from people who have decaffeinated coffee. It’s not any cheaper, but you still get to enjoy the experience of drinking coffee.

8·2 months agoIt also depends on whether you take the word “death” literally, or simply meaning the end of. For example, when people say “death to America!” they aren’t necessarily advocating for the death of every single American, but rather the collapse of the United States in its current form.

movies@piefed.social•Jezebels, race kink and Cardi B: in One Battle After Another, Black women are still stereotypes
2·2 months agoMy favourite part of the article is where she writes:
Sorry to complicate your enjoyment of your new favourite film. I know pointing this out risks upsetting those Letterboxd loyalists who can brook no challenge whatsoever to their favourite film-maker. To them I say: please don’t worry yourselves unduly about Anderson’s feelings. He’s a big boy. I promise you; he can take it.
I still think it’s a great film, with one of the greatest cinematic car chase scenes, but having read the article, I can see why it has problematic depictions of black women.
