Privacy@lemmy.ml•Is there something like GitHub, but without big tech involvement, no data collection, no ads, open source, and preferably decentralized (maybe Fediverse or even P2P)?
3·3 months agoSame as in the other thread, I’m going to recommend fossil-scm.org
Works for me.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there any way to bring back a section of the Internet to those of us who want it to stay in the 2003-2010 and before era?
5·8 months agoI write a tech blog on Gemini ( https://geminiprotocol.net/) , and read other people’s blogs from the Antenna aggregator on that network . IRC is still quite active for some topics, again on the tech theme libera.chat is the place to go now.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a good alternative to proton mail these days?
122·1 year agoSame answer as last time this was asked, I am very happy with Posteo.
Sorry for the delay, but the answer was long enough that I turned it into a blog post instead. Feel free to try it out.
Gnus in Emacs, configured to use autocrypt.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What email provider do you use? Would you recommend it?
10·1 year agoPosteo. Happy with them. For client, gnus in Emacs. Have it configured to do Autocrypt too, but almost nobody else on the planet does 🙁
archive.org is great for borrowing old books, that you probably can’t get your hands on otherwise. Just need a bit of research following references to find titles to search for.

+1 for Voyager from me
