The reason people buy those apple tv/google tv/Nvidia shield and others is to have as many content streamers as they may need in their home, and to have control over what they can display on their tv set.

It’s not fat bikes in the general meaning of the word, it’s a specific type of electric fatbike that’s very present in the Netherlands and a bit too easy to “unlock”, politie is spending a lot of time and energy stopping and checking their lawfulness (i.e. limit to 25km/h, assistance only-no throttle).
Those so-called fatbikea are more like electric scooters, but they are sold as electric assistance bike, which is a very different category of vehicle with different requirements (typically a minimum age, need to be registered and, depending on the max speed, requires insurance and a helmet)

For Galileo they have something where basically each message contain something to authenticate the previous one. So this could be fully based on ground segment. Anyway, they have probably countless reasons to update software anyway considering the many services that were added after their launches years ago.
What GNSS satellites do is (approximately) timestamp a message they receive from ground. They don’t really know their position by themselves, they are clocks in orbit.
Galileo has something like that, I don’t know if it’s deployed yet
Btw, software updates are a thing for satellites, but I’m not sure it would be needed for this, it can probably be done on the message sent from ground to the gnss constellation

As far as I know most of Europe favors debit instead of credit cards. Financial life in the EU is organised completely differently from North America (well, at least from USA and Canada, haven’t been to Mexico yet).
