I’m aware I’m not missing anything on those platforms, it’s the friendships I feel I’m missing out on, as I don’t have many as it is.

I left when they banned 3rd party apps, like many others. I never actually used 3rd party apps btw, however I could sense Reddit was about to go downhill, and I had been meaning to leave for a while - the straw that broke the camel’s back. And I guess my suspicions were bang on correct.

Not being on social media (except this one obviously, and generic messaging apps). Missed out on a lot of potential friendships because of not having insta, or snapchat, but it’s something I just can’t bring myself to do.

EDIT: I wish it was more normalised to share phone numbers instead. It doesn’t have to be reserved for dates ffs. However people of younger generations seem to think it’s weird or unnatural to ask for someone’s phone number etc. Either that or people just used Signal instead - no number required.

Idk, I guess SSDs/flash media is pretty prevalent nowadays, especially in gaming context. That said, it doesn’t leave much in the way of a universally identifiable icon, or animation. So maybe an exposed hard disk, with the disk spinning and the arm moving, if you can picture what I’m describing.

Yeah I totally get it, not knocking it at all, it can just be amusing sometimes to hear someone speak a certain way, take a phone call from a mate, and sound noticeably different 🤣.

Agreed, my phone cost less than 300, had it for years and it’s still going strong. I’m also in the tech industry, and it has everything I need and then some. I can see why people would go for a Pixel, if they want to run GrapheneOS.

In terms of what I’m happy about recently, not much, but I have a little time off from work atm, and I treated myself to a new guitar pedal. Sounds great and I’ve been loving playing around with it the past couple days. Managed to start learning some songs I’ve been wanting to play for ages. It’s satisfying nailing guitar tones or interesting riffs.
