Think of it this way … if you sign up at a karate dojo, there are a ton of rules and norms you’ll need to follow. And those rules and norms will be very different dojo to dojo. That’s an understood expectation. It’s similar to college. The professor is empowered to dictate the structure and norms of their course.

And sure… The professor will dictate their expectations on day 1. If you don’t like the structure, you have 2 weeks to change the course with no penalty.

It didn’t start as an echo chamber. Initially it was one of the few places online a progressive minded person could go and feel like they could express their opinions openly. And by “progressive” I mean both left and right leaning ideologies.

Which, funny enough is now a foreign concept. We call everyone on the left “progressive”, even though Biden and Kamala are clearly conservative Democrats. And we call Vance a “conservative” even though he’s clearly a progressive Republican.

Repurposing existing pronouns is the problem. Other languages have nice, gender neutral pronouns. We just need a nice new, singular gender neutral pronoun.

Example…

He/she/fai Him/her/hai

Then make it standard to use the neutral version where gender doesn’t matter. Telling a story about your teacher? Is it pertinent we need to know the gender? No? Then standardize on the neutral version.

English has always been one of the most fluid languages. Why stop now? Just fix it.

All indefinitely means is “not certain”. So it could mean a week… Or a century.

These disks are pretty well understood. You should be good for a decade. At about 12-13 years it’s risky and anything after 15… If it’s still working, count yourself lucky.

I don’t agree. The dnc opted to go with a strategy of, “we don’t need to listen to the will of the voters, and we’ll double down on doing the same gd thing we’ve always done, you either get on board, or bad-man wins!”

People want change. DNC refused to make even the hint of willingness to change, it’s no surprise they lost so many voters.

This was entirely avoidable.

My only hope is that the DNC will finally wake the fuck up and introduce an actual progressive platform. But shit, I said the same thing when Hillary tanked. So why would it be different now?

Holden was the only real one. And a few firms used to produce locally. Then the government didn’t offer any subsidies to keep them on shore. They all shut down and left the country. Now everything is imported. Real shame. They were great pipelines of talent.

I don’t disagree, but I definitely do not agree fully with your sentiment. “theft” implies a loss to the owner. (and sorry to folks in the other side, “piracy” also implies theft/loss)

So if folks can sit on top of a skyscraper and look into a ball park to watch the game, it’s not theft, but they are enjoying something of value without paying for it, and society generally accepts this behavior in that case. But not if you splice your neighbor’s cable to watch for free. (is that even still possible?)

Maybe call it, “involuntary gratis”? It implies some harm, but not on the same degree as theft.

Use more butter/oil than you normally would. Let the pan heat up properly before adding your egg. Don’t try to flip it until after it’s had a chance to cook a bit first. (just like you don’t try to flip a pancake too quickly)

Do those three things, no more eggs falling apart.
