No confidence votes are a referendum that forces a new vote. Impeachment is done by representatives and kicks off a process that gets blocked by the senate and results in no change, ever.

That’s not a standard stop light. It looks like a globe light that happens to be red - which is admittedly very confusing. What is that thing?

No - the majority were misguided and lied to by people they trust. Granted, they’re blithering fucking idiots for trusting fox and AM radio and their church leaders. Very few actually saw this as an opportunity to be cruel. Those people are obviously awful. The rest - just really, really ignorant with some objectionable world views.

The majority of maga people are just ignorant and mislead. Their worldviews are full of contradictions because they focus on one or more core components that resonated with them and they then latch on while ignoring the rest. They’ll happily believe that immigrants stole their job, or ruined the economy, or are the cause of the majority of violent crime, or they vote illegally, or suck up tax payer dollars, or - etc etc. But it only really takes one of those for them to be able to adopt the MAGA brand. They don’t necessarily have to think that those immigrants need to be deported to a country where they have no ties. They don’t know how Stephen Miller is intentionally ramping up violence because he wants it to turn into a blood bath. And they almost never know just how awful the administration is because they get their information of the world around them from a diet of fox news and an echochamber of community members that also only get their news from highly biased sources.

They’re not necessarily bad people. Yes, some of them objectively are bad people. But most of them are just ignorant and surrounded by ignorance.

The only way to rescue them is to keep them in your community and family groups. At some point when the violence is too harsh and visible to ignore, you will have the opportunity to say “This is wrong.” and they will finally listen.

edit: im talking about the overwhelming majority of people who voted for trump. Not the people who buy trump nazi merch. They’ve just been led astray because the entire world has been set up to exploit them. Even their churchs preach that eye of the needle bullshit rich people apologist stuff. It’s not going to be a pop. It’ll be a fizzle. This one isn’t a debt fueled collapse - everything has been paid for up front with cash. The companies who are paying for the enormously expensive datacenters just won’t ever bring in non-investor money. Yes that can result in some sudden bankruptcies and subsequent devaluations - but nothing that will make a company’s market cap shoot to zero.

If anything be happy that the billionaires who are personally funding all of this ai shit will lose their investments.

I checked it out. It’s not a ghost town, but I feel like there is less activity than on federated platforms. It doesnt have the critical number of people talking about stuff to be interesting and actually result in dialog.
