I know you wouldn’t multiply exponents that way unless it’s an exponent of an exponent. In any case, it’s the only way I can make the term “mcg” actually make sense.
Think of it as giving someone the benefit of the doubt to the point of absurdity.

Micrograms? You mean millicentigrams, commonly abbreviated as mcg by people who avoid proper SI- symbols?
Since milli means 1/10^3 and centi means 1/10^2, I propose millicenti means 1/10^(3*2) or 1/10^6.
Or the extended keycode-averse could just use ug.
This is a fun opportunity to share that mainline church teachings consider each tiny drop or fragment of the precious blood and sacred host to contain Christ entirely. It’s not exactly blood here, guts there.

How many courics is that?
What am I going to do, put the $20 back in my pocket? No, that’s a dick move. I see that they’re acting like they’re in a rush. Pocketing the paper money will only slow down the transaction.
It’s a lose-lose scenario, just like the grandparent commenter suggests.
How do I know the total until I’m given it?
The store knows which items are taxed and which ones aren’t.
I get you, but cashiers are trained to be impatient and never wait for me to pull my change purse out to round it up, even if I tell them there’s more coming.
This is how it typically goes:
Cashier: Your total is $10.50. Me, handing them $20: Here, hang on to this, I’ve got some change. Cashier snatches the money, enters $20.00 in the machine and stuffs it in the drawer as I fish out the appropriate change. Me, as they are in the midst of gathering a large amount of change from the drawer: Here you go. Cashier, interrupted during their change counting, furrows their brows at me as if I just tried to pull a fast one on them.
It can’t be a quick change scheme if you haven’t given me my change yet. Just don’t be in such a rush.

I can be worried about more than one thing.
…it’s a much easier message for politicians to rationalize.
I get what you said in the unquoted part, but maybe it’s just me. Buy Canadian is less rational than pointing out from whom not to buy, on account of how nationalistic it sounds. At the risk of sounding all slippery-slope about it, I don’t want to go down the road of nationalism.

363·8 months agoThe article doesn’t mention it, but there’s a “Made in the EU” labeling phenomenon happening that makes me worried about Canadian and Mexican products getting thrown out with the American bathwater here. The point shouldn’t be to fight nationalism with more nationalism. It should be to fight nationalism with good globalism.
Political extremists aren’t always the best at differentiating between correlation and causation. Let’s see how this plays out.

Some background for the unfamiliar:
“OP” is the abbreviation for “Ordo Prædicatorum”, or “Order of Preachers” in English, aka the Dominicans.
Saint Dominic is the founder of their order.
