Makes sense. CPU/Mobo/RAM typically go together in a rebuild. Storage, case, PSU, perepherals, GPU can often carry over between builds as they’re all pretty backwards compatible.

I tried it briefly, but I wanted docker integration. I don’t think it comes preinstalled anywhere. I had built my own nas with some old PC parts and a bunch of new drives.

OpenMediaVault?
I hadn’t used gitea for long. I just had both running, and then cloned my repos one at a time manually. So long as I had the code, I didn’t really care.

Ummmmm, what is an AI browser? I mean, other than something I don’t want.
Does it browse AI generated content? Does it generate AI web pages for me? Does it just set chatgpt/copilot/grok/gemini as the homepage/default search? Does it use AI to customize content to your language/reading level? Does it flag non-AI content as potentially malicious like an http site?
I’m so lost.

Yea, hopefully downstream browsers can remove that AI garbage.
This is what I was using till I switched to forgejo and never got around to setting up one of their runners.

My company is semi-large. Big enough that their IT dept semi-supports linux. My manager didn’t know about it, but after being at the company for a year using windows, I finally found the right desktop team that hooked me up with a massive document on how to install linux following corporate policy. So, now I’m rocking Ubuntu. Not in my top 10 choices, but a far cry better than the Windows 11 rollout the company warned us of.

Or because the same people comment multiple times, but only get one upvote.
10 people upvote+comment. OP responds to each of them, maybe one ot two people downvote due to reasons. You can have a post with 8 upvotes and 20 comments pretty easily.

You like reading fantasy? I have a feeling you’d enjoy Powder Mage by Brian McClellan.
Main Character gets his magical powers by snorting gunpowder.

Sounds like you need to take some long vacations. Might want to pick your #1 preferred location, and vacation there for a month. But in some normal short term rental. If you can pull it off that is. I know there’s a large amount of americans that make places their entire personallity (Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, France) they vacation there a lot, then eventually move there. They hate it after a few months and move back.
So, if you can find a way to temporary live there long enough the luster wears off, awesome. Could alao help you pick a city or neighborhood for the big move.

I got my domain through namecheap. So, I just use them, they have a dynamicdns implementation. I setup a namecheapddns docker container that auto updates mine.

Pretty sure that would make things worse.
Oh absolutely. I spoke with the mutual friend after and she was being all coy asking me if I was going to ask the girl out on a second date. Hard Pass.
She looked a little sad, I think the date girl had a nice time and was willing to go out again, but I explained my perspective from the date, and the mutual friend reluctantly understood.
Mutual friend never explained why the date girl acted like that. If it was just shy nerves, I probably would have given her another chance, but that’s probably just how she is.
Back in college, a female friend hooked me up on a blind date with her friend. Hands down she was the cutest girl I’d been on a date with at that point in my life.
After some back and forth it ends up being a double date, which was no big deal. But it was with a random engaged couple I didn’t know. Which was fine. But they picked Macarroni Grill or Cheesecake Factory or similar restraunt on a Friday evening. It was like an hour and a half wait. The couple wanted to wait, there was a mall nearby, so the other couple went off by themselves shopping and left us alone.
So, for the next hour or so I tried my hardest to engage in conversation with this girl. I’ve lost count of how many first dates I’ve been on. My small talk/get to know you banter is solid. But it was no match for her lack of social skills and one word answers.
I tried everything and ran dry WELL before the couple finished shopping and we actually started the meal. We sat on a bench and I’d break the awkward silence with the occational: “So, see any good tv/movies lately?” Only to get a “Not really” back. Or “What sort of hobbies do you have?” “None really”.
She didn’t come off as disinterested or bored. It felt like she wanted to be there, but if we were a ven diagram the only overlap would have been our mutual friend.
It was the most painful 3 hr date of my life.
Nah, there’s an official package/repo for ubuntu. It just requires an enterprise microsoft license.

I’m in a similar boat, except I had to white-knuckle the install myself. White-knuckle, because I had to set up unique to my laptop certs beforehand to get on the corporate VPN. And if it disn’t work, I’d be off the VPN unable to connect (I work remote). Got it working, but, fun fact, my ubuntu laptop is running Microsoft Defender! (per requirements) I feel super protected.
