Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's an album with a completely unique sound
1·1 month agoThis is one of my favorite albums ever.
If anyone was wondering, I believe nearly the whole album is made up of samples.
The Avalanches have a ton of other stuff. If you are a fan of Since I Left You, definitely check out the Gimix version which starts similar but has a lot of different tracks in it (including much more famous songs) https://youtu.be/X7i8bIhJY8c
I’m sorry you had to find out this way

Games@lemmy.world•Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026]English
3·2 months agoIts kind of crazy they didn’t make it available on PC. Those graphics look *rough *. I have to imagine the late game turn time/performance is rough too. But, I haven’t played it since I don’t have any Meta devices

3·2 months agoSame boat! My reservation G2 is collecting dust and I’ve since moved to Linux. I really hope the frame works well when streaming from a Linux desktop

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•People who don't wear earphones outside - why, and what do you do instead?
7·2 months agoSame exactly for me. I listen to tons of music at work and at home on my own time. But never outside.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Apparently, Rocket League and Fall Guys are being ported to Fortnite. Both games currently work on Linux, but in the future, they may require playing through FortniteEnglish
3·2 months agoYeah I ended up installing the windows version with proton, had some weird hiccuping and regular intervals but that might just be me, otherwise it worked fine. I didn’t actually try playing an online match though, only local multiplayer

11·2 months agoRL on steam is getting updates but only for the windows client. The Linux & mac client is an old version that only works offline. I found this out the other day when I installed rocket league on steam to try out since I haven’t played it in a long time

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•WinBoat for containerised Windows apps on Linux adds custom install path, home folder sharing and moreEnglish
4·3 months agoI’ve been using it for a while. Probably at least a month, but I haven’t kept track.
It works well enough that ever since installing I’ve had 0 reason to boot into Windows. I use Lightroom Classic and Jpegmini on it. It can be a little buggy sometimes but overall it works really well. It works well enough that I’m okay with sacrificing GPU acceleration in LR with the convenience Winboat provides

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your reason for not flipping to Linux?
2·3 months agoI used to dual boot windows just for when I needed to run LR Classic or Photoshop but now I just use winboat which makes them usable in Linux in your desktop environment while under the hood its running through a VM. It works great except not having GPU acceleration hurts, but it was a compromise worth it to me to not have to reboot into and out of windows.
I bought my MSI GS66 because it was powerful but the only “gamer aesthetic” it had was an RGB keyboard.
The MSI software was pretty rough to use but its no longer been a problem since I put OpenSUSE on it
Thanks for the generous offer! I have a lot of asian grocery stores near me so I think I will be able to find it
I’ll look out for it, I’ve had some hotpot frozen meat for a while that I’ve been procrastinating using because I couldn’t remember what I should use for soup base.
Thanks!

The mouldking millenium falcon is my favorite ever build. Its even bigger than the UCS Lego version and has a fully furnished interior
