I put the cat tree next to my front door so my kitty could affection attack my head and shoulders instead of tripping me when I got home from work.

My cat recognizes the sound of my car or something and almost always is waiting for me in the driveway when I come home from work to greet me. Y’all own some bitchy kitties.

I’ve got two cats. One of them runs up to me as soon as I get home and follows me around all evening until I go to bed, the other doesn’t even flinch.

    I love them both.

Every time I came home for the summer during college, the family cats would be all over me purring and rubbing their faces on me ❤️

I once saw a video of a soldier coming home to his cat. The cat leapt right up into his arms. Sweetest thing I’d seen all month.

My uncle’s dog actually fainted the first time he came back from deployment. He was a very sweet dog. Snuggly, quiet white lab who was dignified and looked like vaguely like a polar bear.

Nah. Cat would be yelling like an air horn, until it had made clear its displeasure for being abandoned.

Then it would turn around and go hide and be offended until it got hungry, or heard the can opener.

Why do we keep expecting cats to behave like dogs? They’re a completely different species with their own body language and habits. Rather, observe what they do. They are greeting you in their own way.

All equally surprised by the sudden arrival of the soldier — the cat, wife and her boyfriend.

When I was in the Navy, my cat would hide in my bag I took on deployments. Every time I came home, this is the treatment I got.

Many years ago I was working for a company that sent me on business trips. When I left, my cat would stay with friends, whom he loved. Every time I came back from a trip, he would snub me. For two to three days, he would spend every moment sitting in the same room as me with his back to me. He wouldn’t look at me. If I tried to pet him, he would run off, only to come back and resume snubbing me a few minutes later. He would take food from me, of course. He wasn’t crazy. Then, after those two or three days, he would then forgive me and resume normal snuggles, but for those couple of days, I was dead to him.

After I moved out, every time I would come visiting back home my cat would casually stroll just in front of the door, look at me, and disappear for the next 12 hours or so, to show she didn’t need me back. I would usually find her back on my bed during the night 🥲 I miss her…

Wait, that’s the behaviour of my cat… Whatever she thinks, I feel sorry… for not been there to be her bed.

I always felt so bad for my dog when I had to go to fly in/camp jobs. I wished I could explain to her why I’d be gone for 3 weeks or so and that it wasn’t her fault and that I would be back. She was always so excited to see me though.

Come on puss, your slave has been toiling away putting his boot on Chicagoan’s necks this past while and all you can manage is a withering stare?
